Forgive and Forget

                 Antony is a young boy of fifteen years he is a prankster. His father is a civil engineer he is a serious man. His mother is fun- loving lady she is not interested in household chores. She loves shopping and chatting with her friends. Often   antony’s  father and mother involve in verbal duel because they both are diametrical. Antony likes his mother very much, he approaches his dad only when he needs money. Antony despite his notoriety,  performed well in his Academics. He had many friends around him. In his classroom, his friends flanked him always.

                Antony’s   classmate is Arjun, an ordinary boy, both in background and studies.  Arjun does not mingle with antony in many activities. The students, even girls,  are in need of Antony to clarify their doubts but Arjun alone did not consult him. Antony noticed this and he wanted to know the reason. Antony met Arjun personally and asked him why he does not join his company Arjun replied that he feels inferior and this hampered him to mingle with Antony’s group. Antony patted him and told him that it all silly to think in such manner then he requested him to join his company.   Antony does not like arjun. He secretly planned in mind to humiliate arjun in front of his friends there by cracking jokes at the expense of arjun.   Arjun  is a naïve fellow .He  believed antony and joined the group the next day. Then they started studying together . The group discussed many lessons together. Antony used to buy many snacks for his friends they all relish and eat it but after that Antony would make arjun to clean the place and remove the waste papers and discard it in a dust bin. Arjun tolerated all this mortification After two weeks there was an examination for which arjun worked very hard. He clarified his doubts with Antony and his group members. He wrote his exams well. During the holidays the group visited  many places they even exchanged gifts. Their gift objects were books and  inkpens. They visited a park full of trees and meadows. They enjoyed playing hide and seek.  Now they  are intimate so they named their group as ” deadly darlings”. After a week, their school  reopened. The” deadly darling” group attended the class as usual. The teachers distributed answer scripts of their respective subjects. Antony was awaiting his marks because Antony is the classtopper in both the subjects so far. When the marks were revealed  antony was shocked to see his marks he heard that arjun surpassed him both in mathematics and physics. Arjun  stood first in the class in two subjects those are mathematics and physics. Antony lost his temper shouted at the teachers and torn away his answer scripts. That day he left the school very early. The next day, when Antony reached school he saw all of his friends greeting Arjun with chocolates and cakes. This added fuel to the fire.

                      Antony went and talked with his friends but his friends talked to him only about Arjun’s achievement in the class. In their class it is their custom that whomever tops the class will have a topper batch with them till the next exam. Until now it is only Antony who had the toppers’ batch but now the class teacher gave the batch to Arjun. Antony was infuriated, he stopped talking with his friends. All the girls who surrounded Antony now turned their attention towards Arjun .

                     Arjun loved his friends he never hated Antony.  But Antony could not control his anger he was desperate. He tried to express his sorrow to his mother but she  was not interested in listening to her son’s words rather she prepared herself to attend a party that night. He wanted to ventilate his anger and disappointment so he got money from his father . His father too gave him money without any question . He went to the street. He met some of his platform friends he explained his problem to them. The platform friends knew well  that he is son of man of substance. They enquired him about his problem then they took him to  bar where they made him to consume liquor. Antony consumed liquor he was intoxicated as he consumed too much he vomited on the road. After some time, he saw a school boy walking on the road since he was intoxicated he mistook that boy for Arjun and attacked him with his firm fists. The boy yelled for help. Some constables reached the spot and arrested Antony . when a constable chained his hands, Antony slapped the constable so the constable took him to the station and filed a case. The next day the news reached the school and Antony was suspended from the school. Arjun and his friends  felt bad for this predicament of Antony. Arjun thought of relieving Antony from this distress. So that evening, he consulted his father , the  constable who chained  Antony. At first, his father refused to set him free but when arjun cried for the release of his friend he agreed to set him free. Then Arjun along with his  friends went to their  headmistress explained the problem of Antony. The headmistress appreciated the unity of the students then she assented to re admit Antony in the school. In the mean time, Antony’s father and mother reach the police station to see their son. The constable striked out the case and released  Antony.  Arjun and his friends arrived at the police station. Antony thanked the constable but the constable asked him to thank Arjun. Arjun’s  friends related the proceedings to Antony. Antony realized his mistake. When arjun asked him the reason for consumption of alcohol, Antony told that there was no way to ventilate his worries so he opted this sort of  activity. Listening this his father and mother felt bad about their recklessness . Now they realized their fault so they decided to pay attention to their son and his life. Antony thanked Arjun and they both became close friends. The “deadly darling” group is now rejuvenated. Antony continued his studies as usual. Arjun and Antony remained life long friends.

          In a city  lived  a couple who did not have a child for a long time . They visited many temples and shrines to propitiate the lordships in order to have a son. Eventually they begot a male child.  The couple were happy  they  pampered the child with utmost care. The baby grew old now it is a four year old child.

            The mother ,as it is the apt time to teach some basics started dictating alphabets to the child asking it to repeat the alphabets. Initially the child did not respond . the mother thought that her child is not matured enough to receive commands. As the days passed by, the mother noticed that the child did not talk. Now the child is a six year old boy even now the child failed in its attempts to talk. Finally it was confirmed that the child was dumb. The Couple were disappointed they consulted many doctors but those doctors advised that surgery is the only remedy. This couple is economically weak. The husband works in a private company as a peon and his spouse a housewife. They knew well that it is beyond  their  capacity  to garner such a huge amount required for surgery. So they decided to sell something and make money but the problem is that they do not possess anything worth selling. They only lived in a rented house. Every day they worried of the plight of their only child. Some neighbors informed them about a missionary school where special attention is given for dumb children. The father was not interested to put the child in a dumb school. The mother also intended to seek a permanent cure for her son. But they do not have sufficient money to undergo a surgery , on the other hand, they should educate him. So the parents decided to put the child in the dumb school. The child studied there. The parents visited the child now and then. During festivals the child was allowed to go home. Though the parents took care of the child, they were not satisfied by this child. The relatives who met the couple embarrassed them with their harsh words. The couple could not attend any auspicious occasions like marriages because of the humiliation of others. the agony of the couple grew intense. They could not tolerate their grief  when they tried to forget this, the society did not allow them to do so. Hence the couple took a decision to commit suicide so that they can serve two purposes: one is, by selling their organs to get money necessary for their son’s surgery and second is, death as a relief from all the tortures of the merciless and snobbish society.  Next day the couple committed suicide. When the police ransacked the house they got a letter which stated that their organs should be sold and the money should be used for their son’s surgery reading this statement the officers were moved. The officers enquired about the boy and met him personally. The officers could not reveal the death of his parents to him.

One of the officers did not have children so that officer thought of adopting this boy. The officer immediately arranged for the boy’s surgery.  The surgery went on successfully and now the boy started talking .The boy did not know the intention of the officer so far, but when this matter reached the ears of the boy, the boy refused to do so. The officer waited for the consent of the boy. Days passed by, the boy noticed that his parents do not come to see him. The officer visited the school every evening. This evening the boy asked the  officer about his parents. The officer revealed everything to the boy. The boy was shattered and he trembled. He profusely lamented for the loss of his biological parents. After two days, the headmaster of the school talked with  the boy because the boy liked only the headmaster in the whole campus. The headmaster loved him and asked him to be an adopted son of the officer. The boy pondered over a  while and accepted to do so. The officer felt happy for the decision of the boy. The boy was taken to the home of the officer where he grew luxurious. He never forgot his parents who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of their son.  When  he completed his studies and got a job he utilized this opportunity to help the needy. Throughout his life he continued this service many poor and handicapped  persons benefitted from his service.  The couple gave a seed  and this seed is now a huge banyan tree which gives shade to man                   Loka samasta sukino bhavantu
